Woodleigh and Pasir Ris Bus Interchanges to open in April
The new BIs will open on 20 and 27 April respectively.
The new Woodleigh and Pasir Ris Bus Interchanges (BI) will commence operations on 20 and 27 April respectively, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said.
Woodleigh BI will be operated by SBS Transit. Service 146 will operate from the new and run along Bidadari Park Drive, serving four new stops.
Pasir Ris BI will be operated by Go-Ahead Singapore. All 17 public bus services operating from the existing Pasir Ris BI will relocate to the new BI, with no changes to their routes or stopping points.
The Basic Military Training Centre Shuttle Bus @ Pasir Ris will be relocated next to the new BI, with a designated pick-up and drop-off area.
The new BIs feature barrier-free access at key entrances, dedicated priority queue zones with seating at all boarding berths, and wheelchair-accessible toilets, as well as baby care and commuter care rooms.
Both BIs also include facilities for staff, such as a canteen, staff toilets, a cleaner’s room and a staff lounge.
In addition, the BIs incorporate energy-saving features such as LED lights, energy-efficient aircon system, water-saving taps, motion sensor lights, and High-Volume Low Speed (HVLS) fans.
Meanwhile, the LTA will add temporary wayfinding measures as work on the underpass linking Woodleigh BI to Woodleigh MRT and Pasir Ris Town Plaza to the Cross Island Line MRT station are ongoing.
“We seek commuters’ understanding that our bus operators may require some time to familiarise themselves with operations of the new BIs. Bus operators, with support from LTA, will monitor the situation closely and make necessary adjustments to ensure smooth journeys for commuters and road users,”
