Archisen, FarmByte JV to develop an indoor vertical farm in Johor Bahru

The JV will invest $10.5m to build the farm.

Singapore-based agri-tech company Archisen has formed a joint venture (JV) with digital-first agro-food company FarmByte to develop a 52,000 square feet smart indoor vertical farm in Johor Bahru, Indonesia.

The JV will inject capital of $10.5m (RM36.7m) to develop the farm, projected to be operational by 4Q24.

Once operational, the farm can produce over 306,000 kilogrammes of premium leafy vegetables, including crystal lettuces, mustard greens and ice plants, per annum.

As part of the JV agreement, FarmByte will provide local farming and agro-food insights, and Archisen will assist in the technical operations for vertical farming.
