Wilmar's net profit jumped 49.1% to $321.4m in Q1

Thanks to strong oilseeds & grains performance.

Wilmar International reported that its net profit jumped 49.1% year-on-year to $321.4m (US$241.2m) in the first quarter, on back of a strong performance from its Oilseeds & Grains segment.

Wilmar also reported higher contributions from associates, except for Tropical Oils and Sugar. The group's overall revenue declined 8.3% year-on-year to US$9.4b.

Wilmar declared an earnings per share of US$3.8 cents, 52% higher compared to US$2.5 cents in the same period last year.
