Exclusive: “It is CASA’s aim to get Tiger flying again, but safely”

Good news for Tiger as CASA says its aim is to get Tiger flying again, but still no word on when the ban may be lifted.

The fact that CASA spokseman Peter Gibson told Singapore Business Review in an emailed response that it was their aim to get the airline flying again may alleviate worse case fears of Tiger being unable to ever fly again in Australia and being effectively forced out.

“Before this Friday, July 8, CASA must determine if the matters can be resolved and if Tiger can address the relevant safety issues. If this can be achieved, the suspension notice will automatically be lifted at midnight Friday. If we can't achieve this CASA must make an application to the Federal Court for an extension of the grounding.Tiger and CASA discussed all the relevant issues and CASA outlined what was required,” said Mr. Gibson.

“We are still investigating the recent incidents and working through a set of complex safety issues that must be addressed before we can decide when and how Tiger may get operational. It is CASA’s aim to get Tiger flying again, but safely.” he added.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
