Singapore Airport breaches 60% on-time flights

But improvement was not enough to push it above its 26th-in-World ranking.

With its 60.92% on-time performance, or the percentage of flights that flew less than 15 minutes late, Singapore's departure airport improved in August from July's 58.52%.

This kept Singapore airport in 26th place among the Top 30 Word Airports, according to FlightStats' August 2012 Airport Departure Performance Report

Singapore still lagged behind 25th place Hong Kong, which had a comfortable lead at 64.60% on-time performance. But both continued to pale in comparison to
Tokyo's Haneda, the top-performing airport among the world's busiest airports with a 91.46% on-time departure performance in August.

One other Asian airport, Thailand's Bangkok, placed in the Top 10 with a 80.20% on-time performance, while three North American and four European airports rounded out the upper band.

The average on-time departure performance among the Top 30 airports in August was 70.80%, up from 67.30% in July 2012.
Notably, Singapore's on-time performance placed well below this Top 30 average.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
