Changi Airport awards contracts for Terminal 5 infrastructure works

Changi Airport Group (CAG) has awarded contracts for substructure and airside infrastructure works at Changi Airport’s Terminal 5 (T5).
The substructure contract has been awarded to a joint venture between China Communications Construction Company Limited and Obayashi Singapore Private Limited.
It comprises the construction of the foundation and basements of the T5 main passenger terminal, ground transportation centre, and a portion of the tunnels linking T5 and T2, covering about 140 hectares.
A separate contract has also been awarded to Hwa Seng Builder for airside infrastructure works including remote aircraft stands, connecting taxi lanes and ancillary support buildings.
The total value of the contracts is $3.8b and $950m, respectively.
