SATS and Sterling team up to expedite airside services for AOG shipments

The partnership aims to launch operations at airports in Sterling’s network soon.

Kuehne+Nagel unit, Sterling, partnered with SATS to expedite first- and last-mile airside services for time-critical Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) shipments.

This initiative is a part of the strategic partnership between SATS and Kuehne+Nagel, formalized by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in October 2023.

Under the partnership, Sterling’s logistics expertise will be combined with SATS’ enhanced visibility for express shipments booked with airlines.

The joint project will offer specialized handling services for AOG shipments at both origin and destination, along with crucial real-time updates on the shipment's status.

It will also focus on optimising handling processes to meet the urgent needs of the aviation sector and accelerate the delivery of aircraft components to quickly resolve AOG situations.

The two plan to commence operations at airports within Sterling’s network in the coming months.

“This is a great example of the innovative solutions that we can develop with our partners and can scale across our global network. We are working together with Sterling & Kuehne+Nagel to continue to create new services that will benefit our customers and enhance their operational efficiency,” Henry Low, Chief Operating Officer for SATS said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
