SIA Group passenger traffic up 3.1% in May

The group’s passenger load reached 86.4%.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group reported a 3.1% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic for May 2025, outpacing the 2.8% growth in passenger capacity. This lifted the group’s overall passenger load factor by 0.3 percentage point to 86.4%.

SIA posted a load factor of 85.2%, whilst low-cost subsidiary Scoot achieved 91.0%.

Together, the carriers flew 3.4 million passengers during the month, a 6.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

Cargo volumes also rose, with loads climbing 4.2% year-on-year against a 2.9% increase in capacity.

The cargo load factor improved by 0.7 percentage point to 57.2%, supported by front-loading activity amid mounting uncertainty in global trade.

As of end-May, the group’s passenger network spanned 128 destinations across 36 countries and territories. SIA served 78 destinations, and Scoot 72. Its cargo network reached 132 destinations in 37 countries and territories.
