Singapore Airlines Group leads APAC aviation with 9% capacity share

Singapore Airlines and its budget carrier, Scoot, had over 90 million combined seat capacity in 2024.

Singapore’s flag carrier, Singapore Airlines (SIA), led the Asia-Pacific region in international seat capacity with 62 million seats in 2024, whilst its budget subsidiary, Scoot, had 28.8 million seats, OAG reported.

SIA and Scoot were also amongst the top three Asia-Pacific airlines within the top 10 for international capacity, which surpassed their 2019 levels, with increases of 14.1% and 13.8%, respectively, compared to 2019.

From a size and scale perspective, the top 20 airline groups in the Asia Pacific region account for 83% of international capacity in 2024. 

The Singapore Airlines Group is the largest contributor, holding a 9% share of total international capacity in the region.
