Singapore and Barbados cement open skies agreement

Restrictions lifted for airlines flying in between.

The Ministry of Transport has announced that Singapore has concluded an Open Skies Agreement (OSA) with Barbados.

Under the OSA, designated airlines will be able to fly between Singapore and Barbados, via and beyond to any third country, without restrictions in capacity, frequency or aircraft type.

Mr Lui said, “The signing of this OSA reflects the warm bilateral ties between Singapore and Barbados, and underscores both countries’ commitment to establish a fully liberal air services framework allowing carriers to react quickly to market demand when opportunities arise.”

The OSA was signed on 17 July 2013 by Mr Lui Tuck Yew, Minister for Transport, and Senator the Honourable Ms Maxine McClean, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, at the sidelines of the Caribbean Community High-Level Ministerial Exchange Visit in Singapore from 15 to 19 July 2013.
