Tiger Airways snubs idea of new CEO for its Aussie arm

CEO Andrew David's last day is on 14 March.

Tiger Airways said that the CEO of Tiger Airways Australia, Andrew David, who had tendered his resignation on 6 December 2012, will serve his last day with the company on 14 March 2013.

The Group thanked Mr David for his leadership and achievements during his employment with Tiger Australia.

Following Mr David’s departure, Tiger Australia has appointed an internal candidate for the interim position of Acting CEO.

The company said that it is not currently seeking a replacement CEO for Tiger Australia, given the existing corporate developments related to the proposed sale of 60% of Tiger Australia.

Tiger Airways reiterates its position that the proposed joint venture with Virgin will allow Tiger Australia to compete more effectively in the Australian market, resulting in more low cost flights and continued benefits to consumers.
