ST Engineering maps new milestones for space programme
NEBULA delivery targets the second half of 2026.
ST Engineering set out the next phase of its space programme, including a target to deliver NEBULA in the second half of 2026, the group said.
It announced the plans at the Space Summit@Singapore Airshow 2026 and said it is working towards NEBULA as Singapore’s first pathfinder demonstrator for advanced inter-satellite laser communications.
ST Engineering said it plans to launch four Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites that make up the NeuSAR-2 Constellation by 2030, with the first satellite scheduled to be in orbit in 2027, and it expects the fully operational constellation to achieve a collective revisit rate of eight to 16 times per day.
The group said the constellation also captures sharp imagery at 0.6 metres per pixel, and its joint ventures with DSO National Laboratories have a combined space engineering talent pool of 140.
ST Engineering said it will start research and development to build POLARIS, an optical imaging satellite for real-time Earth observation with next-generation capabilities such as onboard artificial intelligence (AI) processing, whilst positioning MiNERVA HUB and Earthsurance as platforms for space situational awareness and emissions-related project monitoring.
