Ingram Micro Singapore Managing Director wins Executive of the Year - Technology Distributor at SBR Management Excellence Awards 2021

Eunice Lau’s leadership has brought transformational change for the company.

Tech distributor Ingram Micro Asia has clinched the Executive of the Year - Technology Distributor award at the SBR Management Excellence Awards 2021 amidst the transformational change that transpired in the company under the leadership of its Managing Director Eunice Lau.

For the company, Eunice drives regular communication, clearly and with purpose in a way that drives connection and allows associates to feel seen, heard, and valued. This allows its teams to derive sustenance and strength from interactions.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic is prolonged, Ingram Micro has had associates who were unable to return to their hometown. The company, led by Eunice, subsequently assisted them to return safely and have them work remotely for a period of time whilst they attended to their personal matters.

Ingram Micro has also undertaken digital transformation in the company through a strong influence from Eunice. Amongst these is the company’s e-commerce platform IMOnline, which was transformed from a single-facet selling platform to one which serves multiple objectives.

It has also refocused on IMOnline as a viable sales platform, and positioned the platform as a reseller self-help portal. This has led to a revenue increase from 25% to 30% YoY and an increase in volume of orders by 40% YoY.

Ingram Micro has also deployed a robotic automation process to order and purchase management to vendors as well as streamline and clean-up the incoming stock arrival to ensure timely delivery and maintain healthy inventory turnover in the warehouse.

Moreover, the company streamlined sales and inventory reports to ensure there is a single uniformed report across the company. It has also approved and deployed 28 LEAN projects focusing on productivity and efficacy across the company.

“The key to organisational success is having a culture of trust where every individual and mutual relationships are in the center of our organisation and this starts with the MD. Eunice Lau took on the role on 19 April 2020 and you can witness the transformational change,” the company said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
