Lenovo Group Limited’s Nigel Lee earns accolade from SBR Management Excellence Awards 2024

The awards programme honoured Lee with the Executive of the Year - Technology.

Lenovo Singapore credits its continued success and innovation to the outstanding leadership of its Country General Manager, Nigel Lee, who was named Executive of the Year - Technology awardee at the SBR Management Excellence Awards 2024.

Under Lee’s leadership, Lenovo has solidified its position as the leading PC seller in Singapore, whilst strategically advancing the company’s 3S strategy (Smart IoT, Smart Infrastructure, and Smart Verticals) to new heights.

Lee has been instrumental in integrating AI and operational excellence into Lenovo’s business model. A key milestone under his leadership was the successful implementation of Supply Chain Intelligence, an AI-powered solution that improved supply chain resilience, resulting in a 4.8% increase in revenue, a 5% boost in on-time delivery performance, and a 20% reduction in manufacturing and logistics costs.

To ensure alignment with Lenovo's strategic goals, Lee further established a centralised project management office, ensuring timely execution of key initiatives whilst maintaining budget efficiency. His ability to address the challenge of AI integration across multiple business units was critical to driving the company’s continued growth, with the formation of cross-functional teams and external partnerships speeding up AI adoption.

Lee’s commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation has extended beyond Lenovo’s internal operations. He has been a strong advocate for preparing the next generation for the digital and green economies, leading a strategic partnership with ITE (Institute of Technical Education) to create a new Center of Competence (CoC) course. This course, based at Lenovo’s Sustainability Lab, trains students to repair and refurbish old devices, empowering them with skills needed for the growing sustainability sector. The initiative aims to train 720 ITE students and more than 1,000 members of the public over the next three years, contributing to Lenovo’s sustainability goals of increasing the adoption of used devices and refurbishing a third of all devices collected by 2024.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Nigel also demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. As part of Lenovo’s annual charity month, Nigel and the team collaborated with *SCAPE and ITE to launch a 2-week laptop care campaign, educating and empowering the public on digital hygiene. The initiative helped train 107 Lenovo technicians, and ITE students from Lenovo’s CoC course also assisted with the workshop.

Furthermore, Lee’s leadership played an instrumental role in Lenovo achieving a 24% year-on-year increase in group revenue for the second fiscal quarter of FY2024/2025. Notably, Lenovo’s R&D spending also increased by 10% year-on-year, fuelling continuous innovation in the company's product offerings under Lee’s leadership.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
