MindChamps PreSchool Limited clinches two wins at SBR Management Excellence Awards 2024

The education provider was honoured for its transformative leadership and impact in the education sector.

MindChamps PreSchool Limited has proven itself to be a leader in education, earning the Executive of the Year - Education and Innovator of the Year - Education honours at the SBR Management Excellence Awards 2024.

The awards programme recognised the company’s Global Chief Operating Officer and Chief Brand Officer, Michelle Peh, as well as its Founder CEO, David Chiem.

Global education leader

Peh has been instrumental in driving the company’s remarkable transformation over the past two decades. Through her visionary leadership, MindChamps has evolved from a local brand into an internationally recognised leader in education.

She empowers her team and fosters a culture where each person feels valued, inspired, and motivated to contribute to the company’s vision of transforming lives through education.

Amongst Peh’s key achievements is her pivotal role in MindChamps’ successful international expansion. Her strategic vision has led to the company’s entry into new markets and forming key global partnerships.

Peh spearheaded the creation of the Education Management Systems (EMSS), streamlining operations across the organisation. Peh also led the launch of ChampsLMS, a cloud-based learning platform that provides interactive educational content to educators.
Additionally, Peh’s dedication to customer satisfaction is evident through initiatives like the MindChamps ChampionGold Standard. This programme ensures that all operations adhere to the highest quality standards, supported by real-time feedback and annual surveys to continuously improve service delivery.

Peh has led initiatives that have donated over $400,000 in scholarships to underprivileged students. She also initiated the “I Am Compassionate” fundraising campaign, raising over $387,000 for the VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer.
Peh draws inspiration from her interactions with MindChamps students, remaining committed to nurturing resilience, creativity, and compassion in future generations.

Vision for transformative education

Chiem’s commitment to innovation has transformed MindChamps, which was founded in 1998, from a research centre in Sydney, Australia, into a recognised global leader in education. 

His journey with MindChamps began with his goal of challenging and lifting education standards globally and providing educational opportunities to those who would not otherwise have the means. Despite early scepticism from industry leaders, Chiem’s belief in the power of collective action and purpose fuelled his drive to create something truly transformative in education.

To develop a groundbreaking educational model, Chiem assembled a team of experts from diverse fields—Education, Psychology, Neuroscience, and Theatre—including renowned neuroscientist Emeritus Professor Allan Snyder. Together, they pioneered the 3-Mind Education Model, which nurtures the Champion, Learning, and Creative Minds in children. This model became the foundation for MindChamps' success and a guiding principle for its educational approach.

In collaboration with Brian Caswell, MindChamps’ Dean of Curriculum Development, Chiem co-authored The 3-Mind Revolution, a bestselling book that calls for a new approach to education. Recognised as a vital resource by experts, the book emphasises the importance of nurturing creativity, learning, and personal growth in children.

In 2024, MindChamps reached a major milestone, securing patents for its innovative education programme, MindChamps Music, in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. This breakthrough demonstrates the programme’s novel and transformative approach to connecting fundamental concepts in numeracy, language, and social skills. 

Chiem also spearheaded the creation of the MindChamps Reading Programme, designed to ignite a lifelong love of reading in children. Through the MindChamps Read-A-Long initiative, over 200 interactive eBooks were developed, enhancing children’s literacy and phonemic awareness through engaging stories and activities.

MindChamps’ education philosophy extends beyond early childhood to include The Optimal Flow Method™, an approach that has been shown to improve student performance by up to six grade levels in subjects such as English, Math, Science, and Chinese. 
Chiem’s dedication to research, development, and innovation, as well as his vision for MindChamps continues to inspire and transform the education landscape.
