Far East Hospitality Trust jumps into $443.8m JV for two Sentosa hotel projects

The hotels will have a total of 850 rooms.

Mainboard-listed hotel and serviced residence developer Far East Hospitality Trust today revealed that it has entered into a joint venture agreement with Far East Organization Centre, to participate in the development of a new $443.8m hotel project located on Sentosa.

The 850-room hotel is Far East H-Trust’s first investment in Sentosa and the Trust will hold a 30.0% stake. It is Far East H-Trust’s second investment since its listing in August 2012.

“Far East Organization has offered Far East H-REIT the opportunity to participate in the 60-year leasehold development. Integrating two distinctive hotels -Outpost Hotel Sentosa and Village Hotel Sentosa, they will collectively house 850 guest rooms,” stated the Trust.

Far East H-Trust’s investment in the 30.0% stake will be fully funded by debt and the development is expected to be completed in 2018.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
