Home sales down 30% in December 2010

Excluding ECs, 1,332 units were sold in December, according to DBS.

Although units sold for December fell 30%, primary sales for 2010 came in at a record 16,357 units, outperforming 2009 by 16%.

The mid and upper mid segment dominated transactions, making up 64% of monthly volume including Capitaland’s D’Leedon (180 units), The Tennery (220 units), Roxy Pacific’s Space @ Kovan (109 units) and Nin Residence (71 units). The high-end market accounted for 12% of total volume sales, thanks to the small units at Robinson Suites, which achieved 157 sales (90% of high end) at an ASP of $2941psf. Other high-end developments that saw further take up include Ritz Carlton Residences, Nassim Residences, Tomlinson Heights and Paterson Suites. Mass market projects recorded only a 17% market share.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
