CAD orders TEE International to show documents on ex-CEO's remittances

Phua Chian Kin admitted to using company funds for his personal use.

TEE International’s board of directors has received an order to produce documents to Singapore’s Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) to assist with the investigations of the remittances of its former CEO who had admitted to using company funds for personal use.

TEE International is required to provide the following documents: all remittances between the group and Phua Chian Kin / Oscar Investment Private Limited; board meeting minutes from 1 June 2017; ledgers for FY 2018-2019; signing limits given to Phua in respect of its bank accounts from 1 June 2017 to 31 August 2019; all investigation-related correspondence between the company and the external investigator and auditors.

TEE International is also required to provide assistance to gain access to the computers containing any corporate email accounts and instant messages/chats accounts assigned to Phua, group chief financial officer Yeo Ai Mei, and financial controller Tan Keng Hean in the course of their employment with the company.

CAD has taken certain documents and items from TEE International’s premises on 4 March, the company added.
