NODX expands 12.4% YoY in April

Both electronic and non-electronic NODX registered growth.

Total trade expanded by 14.7% year-on-year (YoY) in April as both exports and imports rose, Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) reported.

Exports registered a 22.1% growth, driven by non-oil exports, which grew 31.1%, partially offset by the 16.4% decline in oil exports. Total imports rose by 7.0%.

Non-oil Domestic Exports (NODX) rose by 12.4% YoY, with both electronic and non-electronic products registering growth. Electronic NODX expanded by 23.5%, whilst non-electronic NODX grew by 9.3%

The top 10 markets are Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, the EU, Thailand, Japan, the US, Malaysia, and China.

NODX to Indonesia, Taiwan, and South Korea expanded by 111.2%, 47.4%, and 38.1%, respectively, whilst NODX to China and Malaysia contracted.

Non-oil Re-exports (NORX) grew by 39.4% YoY, with both electronics and non-electronics products expanding.

Electronic NORX expanded by 58.5%, driven by parts of PCs (+779.1%), other computer peripherals (+474.2%), and ICs (+6.9%). 

Non-electronic NORX expanded by 15.6% due to non-electric engines & motors (+37.4%), non-monetary gold (+89.2%), and specialised machinery (+51.1%).

Of the top markets, NORX in Taiwan, the US, and Malaysia expanded by 414.0%, 113.4%, and 57.7%, respectively.
