Portfolio assets climb 10.7% to $3.04t on equity gains
Equity and fund holdings rose 14.6%, whilst long-term debt securities gained 7.3%.
Singapore’s portfolio investment assets reached about $3.04t at the end of 2025, up 10.7% from $2.75t in 2024, supported by increased holdings of equity and investment fund shares, according to the Department of Statistics Singapore (SingStat).
SingStat said holdings of equity and investment fund shares rose 14.6% to about $1.85t from around $1.62t. Long-term debt securities increased 7.3%, whilst holdings of short-term debt securities decreased 14.2%.
The US led the city-state’s investment assets by destination economy, accounting for approximately $1.19t, followed by Mainland China ($229b), Japan ($143b), India ($123b), and the Republic of Korea ($113b).
The department said these economies collectively accounted for 59% of Singapore’s total portfolio investment assets at the end of 2025.
