Singapore, Hong Kong reinforces ties with 7 new MOUs signed

Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee visited Singapore as part of a week-long ASEAN trip.

Organisations in Singapore and Hong Kong signed seven memorandum of understanding (MOUs) covering various areas such as business promotion, fintech, innovation and entrepreneurship, decarbonisation, and research and development.

This took place during the visit of Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee to Singapore, his first stop for his week-long delegation in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies Heng Swee Keat said in a speech as Singapore-Hong Kong Partnering for Success that the long-standing partnership between the two markets benefitted both sided and reinforces their roles in advocating regional and global development.

“Singapore looks forward to further deepening and broadening our collaborations with Hong Kong in these and other exciting new areas, as we work to enhance our partnership for success in the years ahead,” he said.

In a media session, Lee noted that ASEAN is Hong Kong’s second-largest trading partner.

“We wish to strengthen our long-standing cooperation for mutual growth,” he said.

“From our traditional strengths of finance, trade and logistics, to the upcoming industries of I&T, arts and cultural exchange, Hong Kong is determined to bring in new impetus for sustainable development that will energise the whole region's growth,” he added.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
