3Q electricity tariffs lowered by 2.4%

Households living in four-room HDB flats will be given greater discounts.

"Over the last three months (1 Apr to 15 Jun 2012), the average fuel oil price dropped by 4.6% from S$136.37 to S$130.10 per barrel. This resulted in natural gas prices falling also by 4.6%, because the price of natural gas in Asia is pegged to fuel oil price," said Singapower Power in a release.

"The electricity tariff for households will decrease by 2.4% (or 0.70 cents per kWh) from 28.78 to 28.08 cents per kWh. The average monthly electricity bill for families living in four-room HDB flats will decrease by $2.69," it said, noting that the latest round of tariffs have been approved by the Energy Market Authority.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
