Oiltek in talks with SEDC Energy for possible role in SAF pilot programme
The plant has an initial size of 15 KTA.
Oiltek Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Oiltek International Limited, is in talks with Sarawak Economic Development Corporation Energy (SEDCE) to explore the possibilities of involvement in the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) pilot plant programme.
The programme, in collaboration with technology provider Sulzer, has entrusted SEDC to explore the SAF pilot plant with an initial size of 15 kilotonnes per annum (KTA) and utilise Sulzer’s Bioflux technology.
Through this cooperation, SEDCE has also engaged with Apeiron Bioenergy, a waste feedstock supplier for biofuel, which will leverage its operational capability as Asia’s largest used cooking oil collector.
Oiltek has designed and constructed the 600 MTD integrated biodiesel facility in Bintulu, which supplies biodiesel for Sarawak’s mandatory blending program.
Since 2019, Oiltek has also designed and built a Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) oil treatment plant, which refines crude POME oil into feedstock supplied to global HVO producers in Singapore and Europe.
