DBS grabs top spot in Asia's safest banks list
OCBC and UOB came in 2nd and 3rd places.
According to Global Finance's Asia's safest bank ranking, DBS Bank is billed as number one. OCBC Singapore, UOB Singapore, China Development Bank China, and Agricultural Development Bank of China were respectively included in the top 5.
The rest of the list includes Korea Finance Corp, Industrial Bank of Korea, Bank of Taiwan, Shizuoka Bank, and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.
The banks were selected through a comparison of the long-term credit ratings and total assets of the region’s largest banks. Ratings from Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch Ratings were used.
