DoorDash enters Singapore market with Deliveroo acquisition

The company pledged to equip Deliveroo’s 178,000 merchants with more tools.

DoorDash has completed its acquisition of Deliveroo and formally entered the Singapore market, marking a significant expansion of its international footprint.

In a message to users, DoorDash CEO Tony Xu confirmed that the Deliveroo app and services will continue operating, calling this the beginning of a new chapter focused on enhancing the platform experience through DoorDash’s scale and innovation.

As part of the integration, Miki Kuusi, co-founder of Wolt and currently DoorDash’s Head of International, has been appointed CEO of Deliveroo. He will relocate to London, where Deliveroo is headquartered.

DoorDash outlined its commitments to key stakeholder groups. For consumers, the aim is to deliver a “faster, smarter, more delightful” experience.

The company also pledged to equip Deliveroo’s around 178,000 merchants with more tools to grow both online and offline.

For Deliveroo’s 130,000 riders, DoorDash promised to maintain flexibility whilst improving mapping, support systems, and protections to enable safer, more secure deliveries.
