A retail revolution is making its way to Dempsey Road

Dover Street Market will revitalise Tanglin Village.

The quirky retail concept store Dover Street Market is set to become the poster child of the rejuvenation of Dempsey Road in Tanglin Village.

Dover Street Market will establish its first Singapore store in the area, after the tender for the site was awarded to COMO Lifestyle by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

COMO Lifestyle’s concept will be collectively known as COMO Dempsey, and will be made up of the Dover Street Market, a specially conceptualised Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant and bar, and COMO Cuisine, a new restaurant concept that will offer signature dishes from COMO properties around the world.

The popular local Peranakan restaurant, Candlenut, by Chef Malcolm Lee has also been included as part of COMO Lifestyle’s proposal.

“The Dempsey cluster appeals to both locals and visitors because of its rustic character, diverse dining experiences and retail options. The agencies’ intention for the tender was to rejuvenate and bring new and exciting concepts to Dempsey,” said Lee Seng Lai, Director of Land Operations (Private) Division, SLA.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
