SGX’s largest F&B stocks spiked 12% in October

They’re making a comeback after crashing in September.

The 10 largest Food, Beverage & Tobacco companies listed on SGX averaged a total return of 11.5% in October 2015, recouping the 26.3% slide suffered in the first nine months of the year.

Of the top ten, the five best performing stocks in October were Japfa, Wilmar International, Golden-Agri Resources, Super Group and Indofood Agri Resources, according to SGX. All five enjoyed strong total returns in October, rebounding from the sharp drop of returns in September.

Japfa’s total return bounced 33.9% from September’s -46.6%, Wilmar International recovered 21.8% from -18.7%, Golden Agri-Resources leapt 18.2% from -27.3%, Super Group recouped 16.9% from -30.8%, and Indofood Agri-Resources inched forward 15.2% from -31.2%.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
