HC Surgical expands endoscopy footprint in NYK Endoscopy deal

It acquired 51% of the clinic for $750,000.

HC Surgical Specialists Limited has acquired a 51% stake in NYK Endoscopy and Digestive Centre Pte. Ltd. for $750,000, in a deal structured around long-term physician management and staged ownership.

The Catalist-listed group said the clinic model is anchored by gastroenterologist and hepatologist Dr Ng Yi Kang, who will manage NYK Endoscopy for a minimum of 11 years from around 1 July 2026 under an employment agreement.

NYK Endoscopy was incorporated on 2 June but has not commenced operations. Its planned services include endoscopic procedures, which HC Surgical said are aligned with its existing general surgery and endoscopy business.

The group said the structure is intended to support a physician-led operating model, with clinical leadership embedded in the management of each facility as it expands its endoscopy platform.

Ng has more than 15 years of clinical experience in public hospitals and currently serves as a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Sengkang General Hospital, where he is also clinical lead for disorders of gut-brain interaction and gastrointestinal motility testing.

HC Surgical said it intends to acquire the remaining 49% stake in NYK Endoscopy at a later stage under a separate agreement, indicating a phased consolidation approach.

The company said the acquisition will be funded through internal resources and/or bank borrowings.

CEO Dr Heah Sieu Min said the addition of Dr Ng supports the group’s expansion in endoscopic services, particularly in light of Singapore’s ageing population and associated healthcare demand.

Ng said he looks forward to contributing to HC Surgical’s focus on evidence-based and patient-centred care in gastroenterology and digestive health.
