Parkway MediCentre taps AeviceMD for home asthma monitoring

The bottle cap-sized device tracks a child’s lung sounds continuously at night.

Parkway MediCentre, IHH Healthcare Singapore’s first ambulatory care unit, has integrated Aevice Health’s wearable sensor into a new home-based paediatric asthma monitoring programme.

The AeviceMD Monitoring System uses a bottle cap-sized device to monitor children’s respiratory health during sleep by continuously capturing lung sound patterns in the background.

The technology is designed to give clinicians more visibility into symptoms that may be missed during clinic visits, with changes flagged for review.

“Managing asthma in young children can be particularly challenging, as symptoms often vary and may not be easily observed during clinic visits,” said Kao Pao-Tang, senior paediatrician at Parkway MediCentre.

“With more continuous data, we would be able to support more timely and appropriate care for our patients and provide added reassurance to their families,” Kao added.
