Government blocks sale of Marina Bay Sands mall

Marina Bay Sands Pte Ltd is not allowed to sell, transfer or dispose of its estate interest in Marina Bay Sands within the exclusivity period of 10 years.

This is what Singapore Tourism Board director Carrie Kwik was quoted as saying in a Reuters report following Las Vegas Sands’ statement about the potential sale for as much as $4 billion as early as 2013.

The report said the approval of the government must be sought if the operator were to consider any sale or subdivision of the integrated resort after the exclusivity period.
