Singapore Flyer will no longer be the world's tallest ferris wheel soon

New York plans to build a 625 feet high Ferris wheel.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced yesterday that Staten Island will soon be a home to 625-feet high Ferris wheel that could carry 4.5 million riders a year.

It will have 36 pods that could each hold 40 riders, and taking 38 minutes for the ride.

Singapore Flyer is only 541 feet high and can only hold 28 passengers. A complete rotation of the wheel takes only about 30 minutes.
