Take a sneak peek at Manchester Business School's new Singapore centre

Check out its fabulous interior design with touch of purple.

As Manchester Business School (MBS) continues to develop and enhance their pioneering business education and international offer, they will opens its new Singapore centre on July 31. The new Singapore centre will also serve as MBS’ regional representative and recruitment office for Southeast Asia as well as the place of operations for University of Manchester alumni associations.

According to Nigel Banister, chief global officer of MBS Global, the Singapore Centre is part of a wider programme of a multimillion Pound investment in the University’s facilities worldwide, including a state of the art Executive Education Centre and hotel in Manchester which they are working on to commence later this year.

The Singapore centre’s design comes from unique features of University of Manchester and MBS found across all centres globally. The Singapore centre’s meeting rooms are aptly named after University of Manchester Nobel Prize laureates, Ernest Rutherford, John Dalton, and James Chadwick - Rutherford, Dalton and Chadwick respectively. While the Singapore centre’s Christie library also follows the Christie Library building in Manchester; with the Owen classroom named after John Owens, the University of Manchester (originally founded as Owens College) founder.

According to Nigel, the new Singapore centre can accommodate a maximum of 80 students in the Owens classroom, but the workshop size is typically capped at 35 students to ensure sufficient interaction between the professor and each student, also giving good space for students to break out into groups during workshop for discussions.

Nigel adds that the team which conceptualized the project comprised long tenure staff of MBS, who have been with the school for over a decade. They reached out to the wider MBS community to gather feedback about the type of features, facilities, and capabilities that would best serve the growing demands of our students and alumni.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
