The Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) unveiled the Dr. Richard K M Eu – SIM Social Entrepreneurship Centre (RESSEC), located at SIM Campus.

The campus aims to develop social entrepreneurs, aid social enterprises, and strengthen collaboration with social service agencies. To support RESSEC, the Eu family donated $6m, whilst SIM donated $2m.

“Through collaboration and partnership in the social entrepreneurship space, we aim to create a more inclusive and equitable future,” said Jonathan Eu, grandson of the late Richard Eu.

Anita Fam, President of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), attended the opening ceremony along with other 50 guests from the social service sector.

RESSEC will also offer postgraduate and professional development courses, including a Specialist Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship (SDSE) conducted by SIM.

The first cohort of the SDSE commenced in July, with 18 participants, each receiving a scholarship valued at $15,000.

Additionally, RESSEC will provide bursaries to support SIM Global Education students engaged in community or social service initiatives.

Twelve bursaries of $10,000 each will be in the later part of this year.
