Almost 7 in 10 SG professionals expected to look for new jobs in 2025: report

Millennials (76%) and Gen Z (71%) lead the trend.

Almost 7 in 10 professionals in Singapore (68%) plan to look for new job opportunities in 2025, surpassing the global average of 58%, LinkedIn reported.

In its report, LinkedIn said younger generations are leading the trend with 76% of Millennials and 71% of Gen Z expressing intent to seek new opportunities.

Meanwhile, 61% of respondents report that the job search has become harder in the past year, with nearly half (49%) struggling to stay positive. Many are also applying to more jobs but hearing back less often, with 47% reporting limited responses despite higher application volumes.

HR professionals are equally frustrated, with only 3.4% of applications fully meeting their criteria and 28% spending 3 to 5 hours daily sifting through applications due to a lack of technical (44%) and soft skills (50%) among candidates.

On the other hand, LinkedIn cited Artificial Intelligence Researcher, Food and Beverage Assistant, and Electrical and Instrumentation Technician as the fastest-growing roles in the city-state.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
