Fraudulent job offers target 1 in 3 job seekers in Singapore: report

Over half said they were targeted more than twice.

In Singapore, 37.7% of job seekers reported encountering fraudulent job offers in the past 12 months, Reeracoen reported.

According to the report, 52% of scam-affected job seekers said they were targeted more than twice.

In addition, 1 in 2 job seekers express strong worry about job scams, and over 40% reported moderate to significant loss of trust in job platforms and recruiters due to scam exposure.

“Even well-informed, tech-savvy job seekers feel vulnerable—underscoring the urgent need to embed trust and safety measures throughout the hiring process, not just at the point of application,” Reeracoen said.

Reeracoen, in collaboration with Rakuten Insight, surveyed 400 job seekers in Q1 2025.
