Graduates in Singapore are entering a more competitive job market in 2025, according to LinkedIn’s latest Grad Guide.
The platform reported an 8% drop in job postings per applicant between March 2024 and March 2025, signaling tighter conditions for young job seekers. Over half of Gen Z globally (55%) say job hunting has become more difficult in the past year.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) roles are emerging as key opportunities. AI Engineer ranked as the top role for Master’s degree holders and the second-most popular job for Bachelor’s degree holders in Singapore.
For Bachelor’s graduates, other in-demand roles include Legal Associate, Pharmacist, Marketing Assistant, and Interior Designer.
Master’s degree holders are also seeing strong demand for roles like Management Associate, Research Engineer, Project Manager, and Data Analyst—fields tied to innovation, scalability, and digital transformation.
The report also stressed the importance of adaptability and digital fluency. With 38% of global executives citing “agility” as a top trait for entry-level hires, LinkedIn advised young professionals to stay current with AI tools, participate in skills training, and explore free courses such as “Job Hunting for College Grads” and “Boost Your Productivity with AI Tools.”
Networking remains a critical component of success. LinkedIn encouraged graduates to actively connect with alumni, peers, and industry professionals to gain visibility and tap into job referrals.
As career paths become more dynamic, today’s graduates are expected to hold nearly twice as many roles over their lifetime compared to those who graduated 15 years ago.
