Singaporeans' foreign spouses on long-term visit pass balloon to 11,736

37% stayed in Singapore for over 3 years.

According to Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade and Industry, S Iswaran, there were 11,736 foreign spouses of Singapore citizens last year. They were on Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP), including Long-Term Visit Pass Plus.

He also said that 37% of them had been in Singapore beyond 3 years while 30% stayed for less than a year.

Foreign spouses who aren't yet qualified for PR can avail of the Long-Term Visit Pass Plus.
