SMF, JP’s Mitsui O.S.K Lines ink MoU on maritime scholarship programme

MOL aims to offer two MaritimeONE Scholarships per year.

The Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) and Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop talents for the maritime industry through the MaritimeONE Scholarship Programme.

Under the MoU, MOL aims to offer at least two MaritimeONE Scholarships per year—including applicable overseas exchange programmes, starting 2025 up to 2027.

Meanwhile, SMF will drive and market the scholarships, targeting potential talents at Singapore’s public institutes of higher learning.

“MOL’s initiatives for Human Capital align with SMF’s Mission Statement, both in promoting talent, manpower and innovation in the maritime industry,” Jotaro Tamura, senior managing executive officer of MOL, said.
