TNC sets up Singapore team to lead carbon projects in Asia

The team will work on early-stage project design, scientific research, community engagement, and financial planning.

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) has announced the establishment of a new team in Singapore focused on carbon project development in Asia. The initiative is supported by Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB) through the Carbon Project Development Grant.

The team will work on early-stage project design, scientific research, community engagement, and financial planning. These efforts are aligned with Singapore’s International Carbon Credit (ICC) framework and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

According to TNC, the expansion is intended to facilitate the development of carbon projects that meet both environmental and social criteria. The organization plans to focus on countries where Singapore has established carbon agreements.

TNC is involved in more than 60 carbon projects globally, including 15 in the Asia-Pacific region. The Singapore office is expected to serve as a regional base, with support from partners such as the Southeast Asia Climate and Nature-based Solutions Coalition (SCeNe).

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.
The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.
If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
