Check out this app that stores highly sensitive documents safely

It has a feature for those who don’t trust the cloud.

With a mobile-first and technologically-driven world, more documents are going digital and more information is being encoded into personal handheld devices. While this brings about more convenience, there is also higher vulnerability. Information security and privacy are oftentimes compromised.

A budding technopreneur, Dippankar Halder, argues that while there are many existing cloud storage offerings nowadays, they are only focused on easily sharing heavy non-sensitive data or collaboration, but there was a gap for storage and access of personal and confidential documents. He envisions a future where public and private sectors will integrate more easily and copies of passports, birth certificates and other documents will be validated by swiping your mobile device or through a fingerprint authentication.

Together with business partner Venu Ambati, they developed an application called ALLDOX, which is aimed at removing frustration and anxiety that builds from having the difficulty to finding confidential documents when you need them.

“The solution is a one-stop, easy and safe application allowing savvy and non tech-savvy users to enjoy for a long time,” he said.

ALLDOX is an easy-to-use document management tool. It allows users to organise their important life documents in a safe and secure environment. Users can download the free application on their iPhone or Android devices, and even access ALLDOX on the web to manage important and often irreplaceable life documents such as passports, birth certificates, automobile and property records, critical medical information and/or warranties for expensive home appliances.

According to Dippankar, what makes it unique is the combination of a consumer-friendly application with enterprise-level security. “It is easy and one-stop application and has a highly secure two-factor authentication process and document encryption, guaranteeing the highest level of security and privacy,” he said.

Dippankar added that a key priority for them is to ensure that their security protocols, encryptions and decryption and privacy processes are up to date at all times.

Special features in the app include “Nomination” and “Local only” where users are able to personally nominate people to manage their documents and save documents remotely on a device and not on the cloud respectively. This is especially designed for those who do not trust the cloud yet. It also has ‘Code locker’ to add an additional layer of privacy and ‘ShareRoom’ for closed groups.
