Get ready to work and play at Spotify’s regional office

All the furniture except the bean bags were imported from Sweden.

Located right smack in the heart of the city, music provider, Spotify expands its home in Asia with a two-floor shophouse office along Boat Quay, just right on top of a seafood restaurant.

The Spotify took a step closer to Singaporeans by opening its new office with a colourful and fun vibe. According to Sunita Kaur, managing director of Spotify Asia, their team has worked with their own dedicated Spotify interior design and facilities team in Sweden to get the new office up and ready to rock. They have also gotten a lot of support from their Global IT team in Sweden to make sure they have the best technical set-up possible.

With Spotify’s dedicated interior design and facilities team based out of Sweden, they ensure all offices around the world including the newly launched in Singapore share the same look and feel.

“Two features that are unique in our regional headquarters would be our very own Spotify beanbags that’s made locally and our personalized Spotify headphones. Other than that, some of the furniture and décor, such as the carpeting, fridge and standing desks, are imported from Sweden to ensure a consistent look and feel,” said Sunita.

As the new regional headquarters, Spotify Asia HQ is the home of their sales team as well as the various business leads including Label Relations, Business Development – Hardware Partnerships, Business Development – Telco Partnerships, PR, Social Media and B2B Marketing.

The two-floor shophouse also allows its employees to “play everywhere” —whether it’s at the chill-out areas, conference rooms, pantry, Xbox area or even right at their desks. The office also has adjustable standing desks paralleled to Spotify’s employees love of being active at work. The office also has a collaborative Spotify office playlist to keep the grooves on while they move and work.

“We’re all working with a shared goal, which is to reach as many music fans as possible and drive business growth in this part of the world,” said Sunita.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
