VIO launches SG's first smart lighting subscription plan

Users can manipulate the smart light fixtures through VIO’s smartphone app.

Singapore-based smart living provider VIO has launched Singapore’s first-ever smart lighting subscription plan on 1 December.

“From downlights to RGB LED strips, users can dim the lights for stay-home movie nights, to cooler blue and white lights for work-from-home productivity through VIO's smartphone app,” the firm said.

Every smart light fixture is non-stroboscopic, and has a low Unified Glare Rating of <19 that “reduces eye strain and discomfort from glare,” said VIO. These will also come with Bluetooth-WiFi technology for a quicker setup process, and will not need bridge or neutral wiring.

Concurrently, all smart light fixtures will come with a lifetime guarantee with the purchase of VIO’s subscription plan, starting from $1.50.

New users can choose from a wide range of architectural lighting solutions that can adapt to a home’s existing layout on VIO’s website. Moreover, the subscription model will include pre-sales and post-sales care for its users, who can request for repairs or upgrades to newer models via the website.

“We are excited to offer smart lighting solutions that provide consumers with the flexibility of choosing various lightings at a low investment,” said VIO’s co-founder Kean Chiow. “They’ll have access to our full suite of services, allowing them to swap out and upgrade their lights whenever they want to.”

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
