Businesses in Southeast Asia faced 146,944 cyber threats daily in H1 2024, Kaspersky reported.

According to Kaspersky, Singapore recorded the lowest number of cyberattacks in Southeast Asia in H1 2024, with 574,292 cases, compared to Malaysia, which led the region with 19,615,255 attacks.

Indonesia takes second place with 3,204,294 cases, followed by Vietnam (1,445,452), Thailand (1,057,732), and the Philippines (846,837).

“Cybercriminals in the region are becoming more sophisticated, utilising AI-driven attacks and other tools and techniques. Businesses must invest in robust cybersecurity tools like endpoint protection, firewalls, and real-time event monitoring and management. Regular security assessment and audits must be conducted to identify weaknesses and address vulnerabilities,” Yeo Siang Tiong, general manager for Southeast Asia at Kaspersky said.
