The plan also offers daily income payouts when the policyholder is hospitalised.
Prudential Singapore has launched PRUHospital Care360, a hospital income insurance plan aimed at providing financial support during hospital stays and recovery periods.
The plan offers daily income payouts when the policyholder is hospitalised due to illness or injury, along with lump sum benefits for day surgery and post-hospitalisation care.
PRUHospital Care360 includes additional coverage for hospitalisation due to accidents and infectious diseases.
Policyholders may also access partner healthcare services such as health screening, vaccination packages, chronic care management, traditional Chinese medicine, and teleconsultations.
According to Singapore’s Ministry of Health, the average length of stay in public hospitals is about seven days.
Hospital charges can range from under $77.22 (S$100) to several hundred dollars per day, depending on the ward type and hospital.
Such unplanned medical events may significantly impact income, especially for breadwinners, self-employed individuals, and freelancers without fixed earnings.
The plan provides hospital income benefits for up to 500 days per illness or injury, ICU benefits for up to 30 days, and up to 30 days for hospitalisation due to accidents or any of the 21 covered infectious diseases.
It also includes lump sum payouts to support homecare needs after discharge and for eligible day surgery procedures.
