Chart of the day: Biomedical segment boosts manufacturing output in August

Manufacturing output grew by 2% in August.

This chart from the Economic Development Board of Singapore shows the manufacturing output grew 2% in August. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output declined 2.9% for the month.

ALSO READ: Singapore snags crown as Asia’s top financial centre

This comes after a two-month decline in June and July. June saw manufacturing output dropping by 7.9%, excluding biomedical it dropped by 6.3%. In July, manufacturing output dropped 2.1%, excluding biomedical 0.9%.

Manufacturing performance for September will be released on 26 October.
