JTC launches tender for Kallang Way industrial site

The successful tenderer gets an extended lease for adaptive reuse planning.

JTC launched a tender for an industrial site at Kallang Way under the Industrial Government Land Sales (IGLS) programme for H1 2024.

The three-storey Terrace-Showroom factory cluster, the last of its kind in Singapore, spans 4.41 ha.

Its design accommodates food manufacturing, with a gross floor area of 114,239 sq m for industrial uses and 3,500 sq m for retail.

The Kallang Way site is JTC’s first IGLS tender that includes a requirement for the successful tenderer to reuse an old building.

These requirements mandate the preservation of the building's key architectural features, such as the protruding solar fins.

In addition, the site will have a 32-year lease extension, giving the successful tenderer time to optimize site use, assess building conditions, plan adaptive reuse works, and obtain necessary clearances.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
