Chart of the Day: Big four telcos total returns averaged 5.5% in September

Netlink NBN Trust saw the highest QTD returns in September at 6.1%.

This chart from the Singapore Exchange shows that Singapore's four major telecom players have averaged a 5.5% QTD total returns in September.

On a QTD basis, Netlink NBN Trust saw the highest returns at 6.1%, followed by Singtel at 5.7%, M1 at 5.1%, and Starhub at 4.9%.

With this, SGX noted that the average 5.5% gain for the four stocks has trimmed the average YTD decline for the four stocks to -12.5%.

According to SGX, Singtel, StarHub, and M1 are currently valued at similar 10% to 20% discounts to their five year average price-to-earnings (P/E) ratios.

"The average indicative dividend yields, based on distributions reported in SGX StockFacts is 6.9%." SGX explained.
