Chart of the Day: Singapore's overall M&A value down 10% in to US$25.8 billion in H1

Domestic M&A activity also hit a 3-year low.

Deal making activity in Singapore slowed down in the first half of 2016, data from Thomson Reuters show. The value of announced mergers & acquisitions dropped by 10% to US$25.8 billion in the first half, comapred to US$28.7 billion in the same period last year.

Singapore's inbound M&A activity fell 15.1%, while domestic M&A activity dropped 15.0% and saw the slowest first half period since 2013.

However, the average M&A deal size dor disclosed deals grew to US$111.0 million so far this year, compared to the US$101.2 million in the first half of 2015. More transactions above US$1 billion were witnessed by Singaporean companies this year.
