Daily Markets Briefing: STI up 1.92%

DBS led the gains amongst top active stocks with a 8.72% expansion.

The Straits Times Index (STI) ended 49.5 or 1.92% higher at 2,624.23.

The top active stocks were DBS, which climbed 3.96%, Singtel, which inched up 1.07%, UOB, which rose 2.26%, OCBC Bank, which increased 1.92%, and SGX with a 1.03% contraction.

Overnight, the FTSE 100 Index closed 3.5% down at 5,901.21 points, while the S&P 500 fell 0.92% to close the day at 2,912.43.
