Long live e-mail marketing

By Jonas Blanck

Marketers, be in the know: E-mail marketing is anticipated to increase by 4.34 billion on 2016. Do not misconstrue that the current social media phenomenon trumps the email marketing approach.

In reality, there are three times more email subscribers as opposed to social media alone. Despite social media being the glare of publicity, at present, there are 92% e-mail users to date that uphold one account at the least. 72% of which regularly checks their e-mail account more or less six times a day as opposed to 65% social media users.

This year, 2012, email accounts sum up to 3.38 billion and is foretold to grow to 4.34 billion in 2016. Currently, there is a number of 144.8 billion worldwide e-mail traffic per dime and is said to increase to 192.2 billion in 2016.

Therefore, e-mail marketing is more beneficial to your business (still) more than any other social media networking
that existed.

Considering the recent market, there is a huge quantity of online buyers to date which is said to be at around 71%, all of which are adult internet users. On the other hand, 13% of holiday shoppers register via email newsletters serving as their informant of deals and steals. It is far greater than using Facebook or Twitter alone which tallies to 3% and 1% consecutively.

On a scale of 100, 59% of marketers deem email marketing as the ideal space for returns. Which means more than half of the marketer population believes in the power of email marketing itself.

Globally, there is an average of 20.1% email open rate. The effectiveness of this strategy results to a pay out of 83% based on email marketing where 44% of which have hefty orders and 28% order more frequently. In totality, for every dollar spent, there is an ROI of $44.25.

A few more benefits of email marketing are as follows:
1. Cultivation of fresh prospects by up to 76%
2. Brand knowledge by up to 76%
3. Customer Maintenance by up to 75%
4. Website Increased Hits by up to 73%
5. Lead Generation Initiative by up to 69%
Finally, 6. Sales Generation by up to 65%

Email marketing may rise up to 20 times greater by means of cost effectiveness compared to the rest of the marketing strategies online. Ergo, the ultimate way to reach out to your market is still through email. There is no better way than email marketing despite the social media hype. The numbers said it so.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
